Tired of the standards and stereotypes in fashion, my good friend, Alysse Dalessandro, is using her creative eye to make women feel their best and most important- stand out. Gone are the days where a size 2 is our only idol in fashion. My girl is pushing the envelope by celebrating curvaceous women of ALL SIZES, yup you heard me. She’s created a name and a movement by amplifying plus-size fashion. In her world everyone, no matter what shape they are, can be deemed stylish.
With her latest collection, In A 90s Kinda World, Alysse pays tribute to the bad ass beauties that we grew up watching on TV and at the movies. On her inspiration she says,
"It seemed only right to make this collection a tribute to the fictional women who first gave me the strength to start dressing in a way that felt most authentic to me. They taught me that if I wear what I wand, people will stare but it won’t [be] because of what I am wearing; they will stare because of how confident wearing it makes me feel."
The 90s was a time where rocking bright clothes was the norm, and over accessorizing with ornate pieces was for the cool kids who simply didn’t give a fuck about other’s opinions. It was all about creating a memorable self-image. Alysse delivers this and sooooo much more with neon necklaces and rings, her signature body chains, PVC skirts and gloves, and intricate big hoop earrings. Wanna be down with this collection? Loving this ode to models that NCLA is doing with their latest Runway collection! Call My Agent is a bright cherry red, Catwalk Queen, an eggshell cream, and Model Behavior is a brown cream that totally stands out (what can I say, I loooooove a dark set of nails!). These colors will look amazing on both long and short manicures, and is sure to bring out my inner Naomi, fierce attitude and all.
